TRWM Supports the MS Melbourne Cycle in 2016
The MS Melbourne Cycle is a charity event where you can explore Melbourne while showing your support for people living with multiple sclerosis. It has now been running for 10 years straight.
Previously in 2015, and back again this year, The Rapid Wrench Melbourne has provided 4 mechanics at 4 locations throughout the MS Melbourne Cycle. This years ride took place on Sunday 6th March, 2016.
The Rapid Wrench crew was setting up at 5.30am at the event village, and within minutes was asked to perform their duties, catering to cyclists whos bikes had failed them on the day. There were also the many people who had forgotten to take basic care of their bikes in preparation for the event- a great reminder to take these precautions like getting your bike serviced early in the leadup to the event!
We had mechanics set up at Flemington Race Course, Port Melbourne Yacht Club, Yarraville, and Williamstown. Our crew loves meeting other cyclists who all share out passion for riding. We even met up with a few MS Cycle riders who had taken our advice for bike maintenance and replacement of worn out parts- they ended up becoming our customers in the week after the event!
After the ride, after all those returning riders coming to us with their bike issues and finally packing down, a couple of the Rapid Wrench boys, Nathan and Michael, had a good bike trials session at the Elsternwick station park, which has been newly rebuilt. A great way to finish a hard days work!
We can't wait to see you at the 2017 event!
