The Rapid Wrench Supports Mick and Tracey Hannah at MTBA Nationals in Bright

Over the weekend (18-20th March, 2016), Mike from The Rapid Wrench Melbourne was asked to be the dedicated race mechanic for World Cup level Australian riders, Mick Hannah and Tracey Hannah.

These two siblings have vast racing expertise in downhill racing, and Mike was by their side taking care of their Polygon bikes over the weekend to make sure they could focus on the riding.

Mike himself has a primary interesting in downhill racing himself, so to have the illustrious job of catering to these two riding stars was a real pleasure for Mike. He also absolutely loves the mechanical and tuning aspect of these downhill bikes, and the Polygon brand.

Mike was out in the front yard until 10.30pm working on the bikes on the Saturday night, having only stopped for dinner since the end of practice. Dedication!

Sorting out tubeless tire issues, suspension tuning, bolts coming loose, gear and brake rotor tuning issues, and swapping of stems were just some of the things taken care of for the Hannahs, who need to have perfectly running bikes for their race run.

The course at Bright is steep, filled with 3inch dust piles all the way down, off camber, chutes, and plenty of jumps like this road gap.

The Hannahs did well in their final results, with Mick picking up points for coming 6th in a super competitive Mens Elite field. Tracey took the win in the Elite Womens, awarding her her 5th National Elite Womens Downhill Champion title! Well done to them both!

Mike would like to say a big thanks to Mick and Tracey for making him part of the crew, but also to their family for being great to have around, a big supporting crew!
